Hornby Executive pays a Visit - May 2010

Mr Frits Passet – International Sales Director,  Hornby Hobbies Limited UK  recently came to the island to welcome Ogee Holdings as sole Distributor in Cyprus for their prestigious range of products (Airfix, Humbrol, Scalextric, Hornby & Corgi).

It was Mr Passet’s first visit to Cyprus,  so as well as visiting some of our trade customers,  our Operations Director Ian Calver also took time out to show Mr Passet some of the tourist attractions in and around Limassol and Paphos.

 

 

Time Attack Event

On Saturday 10^th April,  Ogee Holdings joined forces with the brilliant Scalextric ‘Time Attack’ Team to run a competition to find the Episkopi Champion Driver. 

 

Congratulations go to our winner:-  Adam McCabe  who;  after a closely fought competition,  won the first prize of a Scalextric Start! Set and posted the fastest single lap time of the day!

 

All proceeds went to a local charity nominated by the Time Attack crew with the winners prize and event fees donated by Ogee Holdings.

1^st Round Warhammer & 40K Tournament Report

Teams from Cyprus Crusade (The Crusaders), Ant Comics & Isengard Fantasy Shop came together on Sunday for the 1st round of the first-ever island-wide Warhammer Prize Tournament.

Each team came prepared for battle with mighty armies and courageous generals all eager for war! With many ferocious charges, stampeding monsters & heroic last stands, fierce competition took place throughout the day.

With only a few games left to play in Round 1, The Crusaders are just ahead in the Warhammer Fantasy Tournament.
11 year old ‘Crusader’ Danny defeated a battalion of seasoned Wood Elf warriors with his mighty Lizardmen army,. However, veteran player Antonis (Ant Comics - Nicosia) used his Vampire Count undead horde to drive a stubborn Crusader Dwarf army to their graves.

In the Warhammer 40,000 tournament, the raiding Nicosia team made their mark on Paphos territory. Benoit’s Tyranid ‘monstrosities’ rampaged through both Ian’s MekBoy army and Rafael’s elite Eldar force. In defence, Cody (a brave Crusader!) used his Dark Eldar raiders to cause havoc amongst Antonis A’s Nicosian Necron phalanx.

A great day was enjoyed by all and Round 2 of the tournament - scheduled for Sunday 11th April - is eagerly awaited and Crusader honour will be fiercely defended!.
